Despite having never set foot on French soil, my fascination with this enchanting land knows no bounds. I’ve never wandered the bustling streets of Paris or sipped wine in a sun-drenched vineyard, but the allure of these experiences dances tantalizingly on the horizon—a dream waiting to be realized.

Through my journey of exploring French culture, I’ve found myself drawn to the language as a gateway to deeper understanding and connection. Each new word learned feels like unlocking a door to a world of possibilities—a world where meaningful conversations and shared experiences await.

Each morning, as I board the train for my daily commute, I begin my Anki session shortly after purchasing my ticket. With the deck set to introduce 10 new words per day, I embark on a focused vocabulary learning session. As the train rattles along its tracks, I engage with each flashcard, carefully studying the pronunciation, meaning, and usage of each word.

This dedicated vocabulary learning session serves as the cornerstone of my language learning journey, providing me with a structured approach to expanding my linguistic repertoire. With each word mastered, I take another step forward on the path to fluency, bolstered by the knowledge that consistent practice yields tangible results.

Though the process may seem simple, the impact of my Anki sessions on my language proficiency cannot be overstated. Through daily repetition and reinforcement, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of this method—a testament to the effectiveness of disciplined, focused study.

2. Immersion Through Multimedia:

Following my Anki session, I seamlessly transition into immersive language practice using multimedia resources. With French Connection YouTube videos queued up, I lose myself in authentic conversations, cultural insights, and captivating visuals, further deepening my understanding of the language and culture.

As I approach my final station, I switch over to Apple Music and select some French music to accompany me on my 10-minute walk to the site offices.

As I arrive at the office, I take advantage of the quiet solitude of the early morning hours to further immerse myself in the language. With the coffee brewing and my workstation coming to life, I allow myself an additional 10-15 minutes of uninterrupted French music, savoring the moments of tranquility before the hustle and bustle of the workday begins.

At the end of the workday, I will don my headphones once again and play the French tunes on my walk and train commute home while, fingers crossed, working on content for this blog.

3. Embracing Challenges and Celebrating Progress:

My journey of learning French has been far from smooth sailing. Like many language learners, I’ve encountered my fair share of obstacles along the way. From the initial frustration of plateauing progress to the daunting prospect of mastering complex grammar structures, there have been moments where self-doubt threatened to derail my efforts.
